To prove that great things come in small packages The Doctor's Orders return for their third 45's special bringing together four powerhouse DJs to play 45 of their favourite 45's each at this night ingeniously called 45 x 45s. 

Those little 7" platters that had our mums and dads dancing round the jukebox are experiencing a serious revival among the DJ community. Just check the #45Friday trending on instagram. Never ones to be swayed by trends out DJs tonight have long been collecting these fun sized vinyl bombs and will be spinning all manor of Hip-Hop, Funk, Reggae, Soul, Disco and a sneaky bit of Pop that is sure to keep you rocking in your socks all night.

Good friend of The Doctor's Orders, DJ Format is no shrinking violet when it come to funk fuelled vinyl, as you can tell from his drum heavy, breaks laden productions. A serious collector he will be making sure that he keeps both the dance-floor and his mates behind the decks on their toes tonight.

Not one to be out done when it comes to either his hopeless vinyl addiction or his skills on the turntables Mr Thing will be exploring all corners of his ridiculous 45's collection. His infectious enthusiasm for his trade will spread like wildfire for those wise enough to pack this basement club.

A dark horse to many, Spin Doctor has his 45's game on lock. Having started by stealing his older brother & sister's records he has left no stone unturned either in the UK or abroad when it comes to digging for soul drenched 7" to get you moving.
New to the 45's fold is one of London's busiest DJs, Canada's own Jim Sharpe. Having settled on these shores he has made a name for himself rocking parties, recording mixtapes, producing re-edits and now he is gonna show off his 45's game.

Japanther team up with the protagonists of the New Orleans bounce music scene for an EP full of dirty dance. Recorded and produced by Rusty Lazer in New Orleans, it features the 'original twerker' Cheeky Blakk, gay icon Sissy Nobby and Diplo-featuredNicky Da B. Short and to the point, this take no prisoners-style bounce goes straight to the brain's twerk-center. At first listen it might sound nothing like Japanther (i.e. like the 11 or so albums full of distortion-driven Ramones punk rock) but these 3 tracks actually fit their style perfectly: free, dirty and real.

Japanther is an art project, established by Matt Reilly and Ian Vanek circa 2001 while attending Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. They've collaborated with a variety of artists including Penny Rimbaud, Dan Graham, Eileen Myles, VEKS, robbinschilds, Dawn Riddle, Claudia Meza, Todd James, Devin Flynn, Ninjasonik, Anita Sparrow and Spankrock. Japanther was featured in the 2006 Whitney Biennial and the 2011 Venice Biennale. Japanther have made a name for themselves in unique performance situations, such as alongside synchronized swimmers, atop the Williamsburg Bridge, as well as with giant puppets, marionettes and shadow puppets, out of the back of a moving truck in SOHO, and shows with giant dinosaurs and BMXers flying off the walls.

Denzel Himself - Young Insolent

'Young Insolent' is the debut single from upcoming rapper/producer Denzel Himself.

Hailing from South London, home of King Krule and Hawk House, the 18-year-old officially introduces himself with a cut drained of melody, bullshit and musical weakness. A cutthroat and militant track that leaves no space for misunderstanding.

A response to the feeling that much of today's music is based too much in jest, 'Young Insolent' is stripped down, black and white aesthetically and is just the first instalment of a cold-blooded approach that Denzel intends to deliver upon hip-hop and urban culture.

Having recently appeared alongside Piff Gang's Milkaveli on JD. Reid's 'Nobunaga', Denzel is also one half of Brxtherhood, a creative partnership with Gabriella Skies for whom he produced Burnouts - her debut EP which saw release in 2012.

Describing himself as the lovechild of J*DaVeY and Jim Jones, Denzel lives by the mantra: 'Those who can do it, won't. And those who would do it, can't. Do it.'

Cover Drive are a band on a mission to bring the sunshine and sounds of their native Barbados to the world. In 2011 and 2012, the Bajan quartet, comprised of lead vocalist, Amanda, guitarist, Barry, bassist, Jamar and drummer/vocalist, T-Ray, successfully brought the sunshine-y feel good sounds of their Caribbean heritage to the UK music scene. Labelled Carib-Pop (a fusion of Caribbean music and mainstream pop music), three of Cover Drive's four singles hit the top 10 of the UK official chart.  They had a total of five top 40 hits on the UK Official Chart. Their #1 hit single, 'Twilight', had UK natives swaying their hips to the tropical vibes. The band's debut album reached #14 on the UK Official Chart. The band's success also earned them several nominations in 2012: one Soul Train Music Award, three 4 Music Honors Awards and six Barbados Music Awards. Their celeb friends include the likes of Emeli Sande, Jessie J and Ed Sheeran. And both their fellow Barbadian mega superstar, Rihanna and world chart-topper, Kelly Clarkson, have allowed them to share their stage as main support acts. Not too bad for four kids who formed a band just three years ago in a basement in Barbados, at the suggestion of drummer T-Ray's mom.

In 2013, while the band were been busy working on their sophomore album, their hit song, 'Turn Up The Love' with Far East Movement, which has over 60 million views on YouTube, went double platinum in Australia and made it onto President Barack Obama's inaugural playlist. The Bajans are still in shock, but wondering how many times President Obama would have mentioned their name in connection with the song.  The band are working closely with the US Embassy in the Eastern Caribbean on their 'No Witness No Justice' regional campaign and recently wrote and recorded a theme song for it. This past May and June, the band were featured on an episode of House Hunters International on HGTV. Last month, the band were featured on an episode of Britain's and Ireland's Next Top Model.  

Cover Drive were selected to do a US summer camp tour, Camplified, which they recently concluded.  They hit the road and travelled around the US for three weeks. "I cannot explain how amazing that experience was," Amanda shares. "Being on the road and playing your music for new potential fans,  sleeping in dodgy motels, Jamar's smelly socks, screaming fans…what a life!"   

Cover Drive have just released a music video for their new single, "Loveseick Riddim", which will be released on September 23, 2013.

The brainchild of Beetroot Records head honcho Alfonso Araujo, The Dice is a dark, quirky collaboration project that brings together some of the brightest up and coming artists in the urban-electronica field.

Combining everything from synth lines to dirty blues guitar, their three track debut release blends together a host of influences to create a truly varied sound. The lead single, 'Roll The Dice', springs from the urban genre.

Backed by a solid beat, the track is impactful hip-hop at its best, featuring the vocals of emceeKilla and the production skills of Araujo himself – a collaboration that results in a debut track that could genuinely make a mark.

With Beetroot Records and The Dice developing quickly as a label and artist team, 'Double 6' is a very effective introduction. The EP also includes original track 'Impulse of War', and a dance remix blending 'Roll The Dice' and 'Impulse of War' (produced by Chris Liberator & Sterling Moss) which further cements their varied methods. NEM | Just A Dream

Fast rising recording artist NEM presents his outstanding new single 'Just A Dream', taken from his newly released EP 'The Fresh Focus'.

The bilingual Italian speaking artist and songwriter from Sheffield known as "NEM" recalls that his first interest in performing dates back to when he was a small child and modelled for United Colours of Benetton at the University of Sheffield where his mother was a student in the early 90's... ever since those first cheers from the crowd NEM has wanted to be on stage and eventually chose to express himself through his music, which tends to be characterised by storytelling and emotions rather than using punchlines or boasting on his tracks as most rappers would.



Having risen from Sheffield's eclectic music scene of Indie, Hiphop & Grime and taking elements from each of those genres he has merged them into a current commercial musical style while maintaining the same lyrical content littered with narratives, analyses and self-expression which are fundamental to NEM's love of music. 



Over the last few during which he has been active as a recording artist NEM has performed at numerous events across the country as well as opening for various acts including many UK household names such as Chipmunk, Wiley, Lethal Bizzle, Example, Ironik, Skinnyman, Roll Deep, Bashy, Akala... as well as chart Tinchy Stryder (for whom he has opened 7 times, including the last date of his UK tour at O2 Academy Sheffield on 8th October 2009).



NEM has received and continues to receive much support from the local media and music scene, having had his music played numerous times on BBC Radio Sheffield amongst other stations such as Sine FM, Rother FM and Sheffield Live, as well as being interviewed and having his music reviewed by Sheffield's newspapers and music publications.

Zaheer x Abiade | Boycott

Fresh from performing electric sets at the Reading and Leeds Festivals, musician and producer Zaheer teams up with rapper Abiade to release a visual project to their song entitled 'Boycott'.



Boycott is a fast-paced high energy track written and performed by Abiade, a rising artist from South London with a sharp flow and delivery who is renowned for his insane on-stage presence. 


At Reading and Leeds Festivals Abiade tore both stages as part of the set alongside Zaheer and live band. Zaheer's set was well received by the crowd and the BBC, becoming one of the most popular acts on the BBC Red Button, as well as being one of the most viewed on the BBC Introducing YouTube Channel and having the audio played on BBC Radio 1.

Since branching out as a stand-alone music entity, Zaheer has gone from strength-to-strength, having tracks playlisted on Radio 1, 1Xtra, 6 Music and many more, as well as being supported by the likes of DJ Target, Mistajam, Charlie Sloth, Trevor Nelson, Adele Roberts, Tom Robinson, and Gareth Lloyd.

A3C partnered with Revolt TV and Atlanta production crew, SMKA, to book the legendary Stankonia Studios during 2013 A3C Festival and produce an original mixtape, The Hang Out: A3C Edition.  For 12 hours a day (Thursday, Oct 3rd through Saturday, Oct 5th) nearly 30 of the most talented up-and-coming artists at the 2013 A3C Festival came through Stankonia to record 15 original tracks produced by 808 Blake & Kato of SMKA, Prolyfic & Kamal of RadioActiveKids.  For 3 days Stankonia became a must-attend destination for many of hip-hop's elite MCs.  

The Hang Out: A3C Edition will be released on Tuesday, October 29th
